The science behind E-Scan

Entrepreneur Scan (E-Scan) and the technology that drives it was designed and built by CEO and Founder of Entrepreneur Consultancy B.V. Dr. Martijn Driessen.

The E-Scan tool was developed on the back of scientific research carried by Dr. Driessen during his PhD on how the role of the entrepreneur impacts upon the success of the businesses they initiate, develop and grow.

Research was carried out into the characteristics and competencies of successful entrepreneurs by recognised experts, coaches and consultants. This led to the development of a model which separates the knowledge that is acquired, the motivation to become an entrepreneur, the characteristics that are observed and inherent in successful entrepreneurs and the capabilities that are needed to be honed to remain successful.

This model is called the Entrepreneur Competence Model, which is shown below.
